SAMOS Data Category Course Over Ground Heading Latitude Longitude Speed Over Ground
Description Direction the vessel is moving with respect to to the earths surface and relative to the geographic North Pole. The angle (degree) in relation to true north that the vessels bow is pointed. The angular distance (degrees) of the vessel with respect to its distance north or south of the earths equator. The angular distance (degrees) of the vessel with respect to its distance east or west of the Prime Meridian. Pitch is the rotation around the transverse axis. Pitch is positive when the vessel's bow is up and negative when bow is down. Latitude and longitude combined into a geometry point value for GIS use. Rolling is a rotation around a longitudinal axis (+/- 0-180 degrees). Roll is positive when the starboard side of the vessel is down and negative when port is down. Speed the vessel is moving with respect to the earths surface. Rotation about a vertical axis.
